Do you have a master plan? All of us hate to think that we will ever need one, but you would have to admit that it is wise to have a plan of action when everything seems to be going wrong. I know there are those of us who have some of that dried food stored in our closets - I do. Of course, it is part of our master plan never to need it. We pray that the Heavenly Father who loves us will never let us down; He will always be ready and able to supply whatever need we may have. If I believe that with all my heart then why do I have stuff stored in my closet? That is a good question.
However, there is even a better one - am I ready to face and accept a new plan? I wonder – just what is it that I will one day be doing when I finally meet my Maker face to face? None of us can truly answer that question, but we all make a lot of assumptions. If heaven is supposed to be such a wonderful place surely whatever we will be doing will also be wonderful. I, like you, expect it will be beyond my wildest imagination. However, I have to admit to telling my Creator often that I would surely appreciate it if I could once again enjoy the love of my four legged friends. Yes, I know that is a ridiculous request, but at the same time I believe in miracles and a loving Heavenly Father. If there is going to be a big beautiful lion, why not a little beautiful cat?
You’re right, I am dabbling in small, insignificant things. Rather the question should be, Lord, what exciting new plan do you have for my life? How can I best please You when everything I see seems to be falling apart? It is hard to imagine, but one thing I do know is that the Lord has always had a specific plan for the children He created and He is patiently waiting until the day that plan will come to fruition. Maybe He is waiting for a little more anticipation on our part for things we have never seen, a level of joy we have never anticipated, love we have never known. Wow! that is quite a big thought.
Before Jesus came to earth the angel told Mary for with God nothing will be impossible (Luke 1:37). It is hard for us humans to really understand that God’s power has no limits, but even so we cannot deny it. The unknown writer of the book of Hebrews tells us that without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (11:6). I guess the biggest thing for us is to seek Him if we expect to find Him, particularly in today’s world as we are beginning to recognize our failures and wondering if it is even possible to get back on the right track.
Sad to say it would seem that we are spending our time turned in the opposite direction. We are constantly looking for new ways to improve our position within a world of so many different beliefs. But even worse than that we are searching out ways to get rid of each other’s beliefs, never thinking that if we all could come together the answer has already been given - there is only one God. Let’s face the truth for once in our lives – the one true God is the father of all of creation whether we like it or not and He is ready and waiting to accept each and every individual who puts their trust in Him.
Can our big dreams really come to fruition? God’s Word tells us that we can count on it –
Behold, I am coming quickly, and my reward is with Me,
to give to every one according to his work.
I am the Alpha and the Omega,
the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.
